CARL, OCUL, and University of Toronto Libraries Sign MOU Outlining Collaborative Intent to Develop a National Institutional Repository Service

Wednesday, November 22, 2023 – The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL), and University of Toronto Libraries are pleased to announce their signing of an MOU outlining our collaborative intent to develop a National Institutional Repository Service to be hosted by Scholars Portal.

The Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) is pleased to release the 2021-2022 Collaborative Futures Impact Report.

Over 2021 and 2022, we saw a concerted focus by OCUL members to improve access to collections through the Omni academic search tool, including the new ability to request physical materials from any of the 18 partner universities directly within Omni.

Odesi is a Canadian data repository provided by academic libraries on behalf of researchers. It contains more than 6,000 curated social and economic datasets, including Canadian surveys and public opinion polls.

OCUL Announces EBA Ebook Project with Wiley

The Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) is pleased to announce a pilot project with Wiley to give libraries access to the publisher’s nearly 24,000 ebook titles as part of a shared evidence-based acquisition (EBA) program.  

Between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024, nineteen Ontario academic libraries are taking part in the pilot. Once the project concludes, based on usage statistics over the one-year period, titles will be purchased and form a shared collection of ebooks for participating OCUL libraries.
