Published on 2026-02-27

As part of the Learning Together: Reflection on the Academy and Reconciliation speaker series, Learning Services Librarian Lorisia MacLeod leads the upcoming session, Librarianship Through an Indigenous Lens.

OCUL member libraries are invited to join an engaging discussion with Lorisia, as she covers a brief overview of Indigenous librarianship, plus speaks to the recruitment and retention of Indigenous information students and staff based on her personal experiences.

Lorisia is a third-generation library worker and a proud member of the James Smith Cree Nation. She currently works for The Alberta Library, a not-for-profit library consortium, and co-teaches with her dad at the University of Alberta’s School of Library and Information Studies on collection management and Indigenous librarianship.
