Purpose
With a focus on managing and preserving legacy print collections across the consortium to optimize institutional space and refine metadata quality, the OCUL Legacy Print Collections Working Group (OCUL-LPCWG) is responsible for scoping the feasibility and deliverables of the lead project, “Shared Print & Retention,” that focuses on the creation of shared print network for OCUL working with key partners. Potentially related secondary projects centre on leveraging automated fulfilment network and holdings data for collections rationalization and shared preservation, plus standardizing metadata practices to ensure provincial-level discoverability, retention commitments, and report and system efficiencies. This working group reports to the OCUL Executive Committee.
