Future-Ready Collections Working Group

Purpose

With a focus on collaborative digital licensing that supports emerging forms of research, teaching, and resource sharing, the OCUL Future-Ready Collections Working Group (OCUL-FRCWG) is responsible for scoping the feasibility and deliverables of a licensing for local load project that focuses on negotiating AI-ready content licensing for ingestion in Scholars Portal Journals and/or Books. A potentially related secondary project centres on developing the infrastructure and policy/ies for full e-book licensing and controlled digital lending. The working group reports to the OCUL Executive Committee.

This short-term working group was established in summer 2026, with an expected end date of December 2026.
