The Ontario Council of University Libraries is proud to announce Jenny Marvin, University of Guelph, as the recipient of this year's OCUL Outstanding Contribution Award. This award will be presented to Jenny Marvin for her work in support of OCUL's mission and vision.

Jenny Marvin is recognized for her leadership, energy and expertise in the development of the Scholars GeoPortal Project and her advocacy of OCUL and Scholars Portal initiatives. Jenny’s commitment to collaboration within OCUL has spanned numerous roles, from past Chair of the OCUL Map Group and the Scholars GeoPortal Project Management Group, to current Chair of the Operations groups for Scholars GeoPortal  and <odesi> and a sitting member of the Scholars Portal Operations & Development Committee (SPOD). The jury agreed that Jenny’s “collaborative approach and outstanding organizational skills” allowed her to lead her colleagues through the development and deployment of the Scholars GeoPortal and significantly strengthen OCUL’s relationships with the health data community, fostering opportunities for the future development of OCUL’s data collections and discovery tools. Her significant contribution to the OCUL community is well deserving of this award.

The OCUL Outstanding Contribution Award was established by the OCUL Directors in May 2008 to recognize the outstanding contribution of an individual or team of individuals within the OCUL consortium. This year the Award recognizes a remarkable achievement that has helped embody the values which OCUL places on networking, collaboration and community.

Our congratulations and thanks to Jenny Marvin.
