OCUL Appoints Kari Weaver as AI and Machine Learning Program Manager

OCUL is delighted to announce the appointment of Kari Weaver, BA, MLIS, Ed.D., as AI and Machine Learning Program Manager. 

In her role as the AI and Machine Learning Program Manager, Kari will help build awareness, competency, knowledge, and skill levels among library staff across Ontario and support the program’s five pilot projects.

Kari joins OCUL while on secondment from her role at the University of Waterloo as Learning, Teaching, and Instructional Design Librarian. She brings considerable experience in professional development programming on generative AI in teaching and learning, and Kari’s extensive research background centres on the intersection of human information behaviour and pedagogy. She publishes on a wide range of topics including information literacy, academic integrity, misinformation, scientific communication, educational research methods, online learning, and digital accessibility. She is also the author of the Artificial Intelligence Disclosure (AID) Framework.

Kari commences her role with OCUL on April 1, 2025 for a two-year term, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the consortium team.
