Writing with integrity: Integrating AI into first-year graded assignments
In this 90-minute session, Interdisciplinary Studies Librarian Martha Attridge Bufton (Carleton University) will share how she designed two seminar activities that ask first-year undergraduates to engage with Copilot by comparing AI-generated outputs with their own work and with feedback from peers. The students then reflect on the strengths, limitations, and ethical implications of generative AI while making informed decisions about how to improve their research strategies and academic writing.
