As AI continues to transform the landscape of higher education, a new information exchange program hosted by the Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) provides an opportunity for member libraries to showcase their AI-related skills and help build a province-wide professional development community.
The OCUL AI Exchange Program launches in early 2026 and is designed to spotlight locally developed AI-related training and expertise from across Ontario. Library workers from the consortium’s membership can submit proposals to lead an online training session, interactive workshop, or tool demonstration, helping participants explore the ethical, academic, and operational implications of AI technologies.
How to Apply
Library professionals from the OCUL membership can submit a brief proposal via online form. AI Exchange online sessions can be led by individuals or a small group. Presenters are encouraged to share materials (slides, recordings, learning materials, documentation) as supplements to their session.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- AI in research support
- AI workflow improvements for library contexts
- Metadata and discovery
- AI for distinct populations (e.g. health faculty, graduate students)
- Ethical dimensions of AI
- General AI literacy
