OCUL’s Ask a Librarian virtual reference service will launch at Nipissing University in early 2015.

Starting on January 5, students and faculty at Nipissing University can access the online chat-based service for library and research assistance. Students attending Canadore College will use the AskON service provided by the Ontario College Library Service (OCLS).

Nipissing’s participation will bring the total number of OCUL institutions offering Ask to 13. This follows the recent addition this Fall of the University of Ottawa and Laurentian University to the Ask service, and the launch of the pilot French language chat service Clavardez avec nos bibliothécaires.
Ask/Clavardez users are served by librarians and library staff from participating Ontario universities along with mentees who are current students or recent graduates of Masters level programs in Information Studies.
This service is available 7 days a week during the Fall and Winter terms:

  • Mon. – Thurs. 10am-10pm
  • Fri. 10am-5pm
  • Sat. – Sun. 12pm-6pm
